This event aims to introduce you to the campus, to the daily procedures of the University of Patras, to your new fellows and colleagues as well as to your new home, Patras city.

20/2 – ORIENTATION DAY

15:30 | Meet ESN UOPA and International Relations Office (IRO) in the central Library of the University for a welcome speech and a small presentation. After that, coffee break will take place in order to get known each other and chat.
18:00 | In order to energize ourselves and have more fun, Ice Breaking Games are in the schedule at the Theater of Students’ Residence.
20.00 | Quick dinner in the Cafeteria of the Residence, because batteries always need to be charged.
23.00 | Party to the center of the city.

21/2 – CITY RALLY GAMES

15.30 | Time to introduce you with your new home city. City Rally Games are re-newed (especially for the students of the previous semester) and are waiting to be played by both Erasmus and ESNer students. 16.00 the CITY RALLY STARTS

The Patras Carnival, “Patrino karnavali” is the largest event of its kind in Greece and one of the biggest in Europe. It has more than 180 years of history. The events begin on 17 January and last up to Clean Monday. The carnival of Patras is not a single event but a variety of events that includes balls, parades, hidden treasure hunt and the children’s carnival amongst others. It climaxes in the last weekend of Carnival with the Saturday evening parade of carnival groups, the extravagant Sunday parade of floats and groups, and finally the ritual burning of the carnival king at the St. Nikolaos Street pier in the harbour of Patras. Its characteristics are spontaneity, improvisation, inspiration and volunteerism.

25/2 and 26/2 – PARADES OF PATRAS CARNIVAL

25/5 | the NIGHT PARADE in the Center of the city will begin late in the afternoon until early in the morning with many events and parties downtown.
26/2 | The GRAND PARADE of the carnival will be spectacular. The parade starts ~14.00 and lasts until early at night. The carnival closes with a firework ceremony in the old Harbour of the city (aka Molos) near at 21.00. Parties and more events are places every where downtown.
