Shrove Thursday 2025 in #Patras will be filled with #celebration, #music, and, of course, plenty of #meat! The festivities begin on February 20th, with a morning parade of 3 Patras bands starting at 11:00 AM from the City Hall, followed by an exciting evening in the Upper Town. From 7:00 PM onwards, musical groups, traditional carnival events, and the lively carnival spirit will come to life on Germanou Street and the surrounding areas.
#Souvlaki and #sausages will be sizzling on #grills, #wine will flow abundantly, and locals and visitors will enthusiastically join in the city’s celebrations. The night culminates with traditional #dances and #rebetiko #concerts, as Patras celebrates music, joy, and its satirical #spirit.
This day is part of the official Patras Carnival program, reviving customs and traditions, with both the Upper and Lower Towns filling with a festive atmosphere. This tradition began with the Wedding of Giannoula the Koulourou during the interwar period and continues with the same lively and joyful spirit!
